Now Rahul's vision was clear. He
had to score maximum marks no matter what he had to do for that. The next day
his father told him to go for tuition at Miss Mary's, and Rahul obeyed his
father. Anyway, Miss Mary was a good teacher. Next Monday evening he went to
Miss Mary's house for tuition and he met some other people as well. Miss Mary's
tuition is not for every child, it is for only selected children. Rahul met
some students there, Abhay and Dolly. Miss Mary was teaching them maths and
Rahul also sat with her. Miss Mary knew that Rahul was a brilliant student. So,
she thought why not use Rahul as an advertisement for his tuition classes? And
she did. She taught Rahul to speak English and took him to senior classes at
school, and got him to do advertisements. This was all new to Rahul. He was
just confused about what he was doing. He came to Miss Mary because he wanted
to score the highest marks but here the game is different. He understood that
in this way his dream of getting the highest marks would not be fulfilled. He
told this whole thing to his father but his father got angry and said Miss Mary
is the best teacher. Whatever she is doing she is doing it for his goodness.
Rahul left everything and started studying on his own.
A few days later, Rahul's father met Abhijeet's maternal
grandfather at school. After talking here and there, when it came to studies,
all came to know that Abhijeet had come third in the last exam.
Abhijeet's maternal grandfather
said that this time his grandson would come first in the exam and would leave
Rahul behind. Rahul's father did not like this and he bet with him that in this
next exam, only Rahul would come first. Suddenly the bell rang and Rahul and
Abhijeet came out talking together. Abhijeet's maternal grandfather told both
of them about the bet and promised that he would give a gift from his side to
the winner.
Both Abhijeet and Rahul were not happy about this. They
both used to study together, so what would they do if there were competitions
between them? But what could they do now? They just started studying, and now
both of them were eyeing that first position. That day Rahul's father saw him
playing at home. His father went to him and said,
“meri
naak ab tumhare haathon me hai, isse katne mat dena”.
Now along with all this pressure
was building on Rahul. As a result, the study which Rahul liked started
becoming a burden on him. Now whenever he used to sit to study, all these came
to his mind and disturbed him. Because of this bet, the friendship between
Abhijeet and Rahul almost ended. Now Rahul started remaining silent even in
class because he had no one to tell his problems to.
